EMPATHY
I believe that the discussion that we had in the last session was something that I have been exposed to before. With that being said, I do not think that I have heard it paired with non-verbal communication and things of that nature. Non-verbal communication is something that I should continue to work on daily because I tend to have a resting face, with that not being my intent at all. This leads others to assume that I am unapproachable, which could not be farther from the truth.
I am someone who does feel for my friends and family, and I usually take their worries to heart, simply because I am a people pleaser. In a previous leadership course, I learned that one of my top five strengths was harmony. This characteristic is one where I want everyone to be working together happily, without conflict or stress. I believe that this trait, as well as being relatable, are two very important characteristics to have when empathizing with a client, or just building a therapeutic relationship in general.
